The Vicar Visits DBTC Mandaluyong - Welcome Program

November 23, 2023—Don Martoglio enjoyed an afternoon of encounters with the Salesian Family and EPC of Don Bosco Mandaluyong around a table of stories, songs, and snacks.

The program began with an opening prayer, followed by an AVP presentation of Bosconians who are studying asynchronously online at home. They sent their welcome greetings to Don Martoglio. The AVP also featured the Don Bosco Youth Center Oratorians, who are now Lay Mission Partners of DBTC.

Afterward, Don Martoglio spoke from his heart. Fr. Nestor Impelido, SDB, translated the Italian to English for the audience.

To get to know the EPC of DB Mandaluyong, some Bosconians, and Lay Mission partners shared their experiences and journey in living their life with the mission together with St. John Bosco. To get to know Don Martoglio, they asked him questions on behalf of the EPC.

Fr. Demetrio Carmona, SDB, gave the closing remarks, and along with Fr. Marc Will Lim, SDB, presented Don Martoglio with some keepsakes. These items will help him remember the meaningful encounter they had: a DBTC laptop bag, a personal DBTC ID, a caricature of DB and Don Martoglio, and a Barong Tagalog.

The TVET Bosconians roused the spirits of the assembly with their animated dance number. Bro. Anthony Rodriguez, SDB, led the community song, “Live the Dream.”

After the stories and songs, Don Martoglio enjoyed some Pinoy street food for snacks. He was also introduced to the infamous balut.
